Yes that is right I am going to have a student, other than my kids of course.
One of our friends has been having some issues with her sons school and has been asking me if I was willing to homeschool him along with my children. At first I told her I would think about it and would get back to her. The other day we sat down and had a long talk about everything that she and I would need to know if I were to start homeschooling him. After a few hours of talking and a couple days for all of us to think and talk about it we decided that I would gladly start the homeschool process with him!
I am very excited to have him in our "class"! He is the same age as Kodey which is good becuase they will be on about the same page!
We do not have school every day as I also have a part-time job so on those days he will be going to his grandparents so it all works out just great!
Today is going to be our first day with him! I am so excited!!

We are having Christmas at our house again this year. Our house if full of family from out of state. It is so nice to have everyone here. The kids are loving having all of their cousins here to play with! Very busy and probably going to be crazy day ahead of us.

Happy 'early' Thanksgiving

Since I know I will be pretty busy tomarrow I thought I would write my Thanksgiving post today!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I hope you all have a great time with your family/friends!

Thanksgiving is being thankful so here is what I am thankful for!

My Family - Every single one of them! Even though we dont all get along at I time I am still thankful that I have them in my life.My parents/in-laws - I know this going with family but I am thankful for having both sets of grandparents close to us and both retired so free babysitting when I go to work or need to run errends without children!
My husband - I am thankful that I have such a wonderfuly amazing husband! I love you Matthew!Kids - Our kids are a blessing since the doctors said it was a slim chance we could have children. We got blessed with being able to have two beautiful boys of our own! And of course miss Adelyn who was grown in our hearts!
Adoption - Without adoption we would not have little miss Adelyn and I could not imagine our family without her! I am also thankful for adoption in giving great homes to children who otherwise would not be able to have one.
Friends - Somedays I could not get though my days without you!
Homeschooling - My new found passion is to homeschool my children after we had a rough begining to this school year. We have only been doing it for a few months now but it has been great so far and Kodey and Brycen just love it. It is the right kind of schooling for them at this stage in their life!
House - I am thankful that we have a nice house to live in!
Sports - Without sports we would have a pretty boring life. Im thankful for all the teams in Minnesota and all the players who play on those teams! I know everyone says it but we have the greatest and nicest players that play on those teams!

I know I am missing some things but my brain is at a pause right now. That and my children are screaming at me they are hungary! :)

Hockey rink

I, and many other hockey parents, let their children be out of their sight while we are at the rink. I dont like it when those over protective parents tell me I am a bad parent becuase I let my boys have fun with their friends while at the rink. It is not like I am letting my one year old run around with them.They are seven and five years old and are pretty mature for their age, especially Kodey. My kids are small for their age though which I think is why some people think im being a bad mother. Kodey is the same size as my five year old nephew. So I can see how some parents might think that im letting my five and three year olds run around. But really I have let them run around the arena for just about that long.
It is like a second home to them. They know 99% of the people that are there. And yes I also let Kodey go see his friends by himself at the Xcel. I will let Brycen go as long as he is with Kodey but im not comfortable with Brycen going anywhere by himself at the big rink yet.
I just dont see a problem with letting them have fun especially at our little small town rink. I know some of you might still not let your seven year old run around the Xcel Energy Center without an adult but just like at our small town rink they know pretty much everyone there and they have been there since they were babies.

Post halloween

We are finally done with Halloween. And now that the kids have enough candy for a really long time its time to start putting all the Halloween decor away and find the Thanksgiving decor! We went to the Mall of America for trick-or-treating like we do every year! It is so much fun becuase they always have something else going on. Like this year they had a magician and other things! It is nice because you just walk around the mall and go to the stores just like you would go to houses. When you get around one level you stop and watch what every they have that year while I decided wether my kids need more candy or not. They went around two levels last night and if you have even been to the Mall of America you can imagine how much candy they got times 3. We have enough candy for a while. Matthew is going to take some to work for his co-workers! When we got home the kids dumped all their candy on the living room floor and were sorting it and looking at what all they got. James (who is one of our hockey players we billiot this season) comes in and says "Wow look at all that candy you got for me!" Brycen "Its not all for you. You can have the candy I dont like." James "So what candy dont you like?" Brycen "Uuuummmmmm I like it all" James "Ya thats what I thought".

Well hello again! How has everyone been? We have been really busy and through a lot since the last time I blogged. I will hopefully be updating this more often then a few times a year from now on.
So first off we decided to start homeschooling after we had some problems with Kodeys school at the begining of the year. Even though Brycen goes to a diffrent school we decided to take him out also being it was only preschool and teach him at home also! We have been at homeschooling for a few months now and it is just wonderful! We can decided when and how we teach him! Also they will be getting more attention as there is not 30 kids per a teacher like a public schools. We get to go on all kinds on "field trips" and learn hands on which I think kids learn more from doing that reading in a book or looking at a computer or listening to their teacher. I regret not starting this when Kodey started pre-school but better late than never right?

Hockey finally started last night for both the boys! Kodey is in hopefully his last year of the mite level. We will let him tryout for the squit level next year. We did not let him tryout this year becasue of his size, he is just so much small/shorter than the squirt level kids. Kodey is dissapointed we didnt let him try out this year since the mites have to do cross ice and not play may games since the new rules put out by USA hockey. Brycen is in the mini mite level so he will unfortanatly have more than a year doing this cross ice stuff. :(

Since it is halloween tomarrow, Happy Halloween everyone!! Kodey is going as a hockey player. That is just about the only thing he ever wants to go as. Brycen is going to be a pirate and Adelyn is a monkey! The kids have already been trick-or-treating at the fall festival the other day!! They are going again on Monday at the mall of america which we go to every year!! Matthew and I are going to frightmares at buck hill tonight with some friends!

I love reading and seeing all the pictures of the huge blizzard that went through.. It is enjoyable to know that it isnt here. We get that kind of snow storms every year and its good too see that everyone else who usually doenst get that kind of inches of snow to see what we go through.
I know that places like Nashville area where we have friends and family if they get only like a 1/4 inch their hole city is just about shut down. Schools get closed and they all think they need to stay off the roads becuase its horrible. I know this has to happens in other southern cities too but that is just an example since I know that it actually happens there.

I have everything finally all done for Kodeys birthday party. His friends party is going to be at Mall of America! He has wanted to do this for a while and since he usually has a skating party why not change it up a bit. He and his friends will have a great time riding on all the rides and we will probaby do a round of mini golf and the mirror maze. They will probably also have to make a stop at Lego Land! We will be eating at Tony Roma's and than maybe even end the day with a movie! It is going to be a busy day but the kids will have a blast.

Wow can you believe it is February already?? The month of January went by pretty fast. We have been really busy too. With hockey and everything else we have going on I was busy planning Kodeys birthday party too. I cant believe he is going to be 7 years old here in about a week. Also by birthday is coming up too on the 6th. Also our anniversery also. I cant wait to see what mini vaca Matt has planned out for us this year!
The next 3 weekends are going to be crazy. Between hockey and birthdays its going to be some busyness. This weekend we will be celebrating my birthday. We dont do anything special just go out to eat with family and some friends. That next week we will be having Kodeys birthday party!! And that next weekend Matt and I will be off for our little weekend getaway for our anniversery!!

I just remembered that I havnt posted in quite some time.. So here is a little update before we head off to Target and do some other errends.
We have been pretty busy with all things hockey. Its been nice though that the Wild have been on the road for about this hole month really. One home game here and there. Kodey has been doing great with his hockey! He had 4 games this weekend they won 2 of them. Pretty good for being such a busy weekend.
Brycen has been doing great too. He is doing great in his hockey program also.
Adelyn is 10 months old ready. I cant believe it. She is walking along tables and furnature and with her walker. So its not to long before she starts walking on her own. She recently had a little ear infection but she is doing great now. She is back to herself again beating up her brothers. LOL.
Well I will try and keep this up to date from now on. I put a little reminder on my desk with a sticky note to remind myself to update that blog.. I better get going now. Brycen is all bundled up. I promise I will update later!

Whatever Wednesday

It has been a pretty layed back week here so far. With Kodey being out of school until Monday and I took this hole week off from work we have just been kind of chilling around the house. Weve been playing with our new christmas presents!! Of cource we have been playing some pond hockey too! They boys even got me to go out and skate with them one of the days.
It is warming up for the next couple days here so its been pretty nice to go outside and play in the snow and not have to worry about getting frost bite after 5 minutes of playing. We can actually go outside and play! It is supose to rain/sleet/freezing rain tomarrow. I always hate those words. I dont mind snow at all it the icey junk that I cant stand. But I guess that is what we have to deal with it getting a little warmer out for a couple days.
Little miss Adelyn has been working on her walking latley. She is getting really good at walking with help! She still hasnt mastered the art of walking by herself yet but im sure that is not to far down the way. Matt has already got the baby ice skates out of the garage. He brought them in the house the other day and I just had to roll my eyes at him because I just know as soon as she starts taking steps by herself he will have those skates on her and out on the ice just like he did with the boys.

Settling down

We are settling down after our long Christmas weekend. Matt took the day off today so we have just be putting together some of the christmas presents that havnt been put together yet and playing some of them too!! They kids just loved all of their gifts. We still have to go to Toys R us and Target to get some things they want with their gift cards.
The clean up of christmas decor will be happening this week. I cant ever do it all in one day. I think the clean up part is by far my least favorite thing to do. If I could just take the ornaments off the tree and just put them in any box it would be a lot diffrent. But its the finding the right box and the right ornament that I think annoys me the most about taking everything down. Most of my other decor just goes all in a big tote and it doesnt have to have a true home. I wish I could just throw all the ornaments in one big box and call it good. But unfortanaly I cant do that. It would be really unorganized and they would probably all get broken..

They guys just got back from going back home to their own christmases. Kodey and Brycen and really happy they are back and didnt waist any time telling them that they needed to come play pond hockey with them. LOL. I had to tell the boys that they needed to give them some time to relax after being in the air and on the road yesterday and this morning.. Otherwise knowing them they would have been out their playing hockey with them since they are such great guys.

Well I sure do hope you all had a great time with all of your family for Christmas. And a great new year to come.

Christmas program

Today Adelyn and I are going to watch Brycen sing at his daycares Christmas program! He is so excited for us to see him and all his friends sing! Santa is going to make a visit to them too before they sing. Bry just loves santa. He will just run up and jump on his lap and is never hesitant to tell santa EVERYTHING that he wants for Christmas. This will be the 2nd time Adelyn gets to see santa. She didnt do great the first time around. She wanted nothing do do with him at all. Which I found really strange since she loves the mascots at the sports games. I guess there is something with santa that she isnt very fond of this year. Im not goint to push her to sit on his lap with the huge croud that will probably be there but I will take her us when Bry sits on his lap to see how she reacts this time around.

Snow, snow and more snow..

Weve had a crazy weekend here with the snow weve got. We had a full blowen Minnesota blizzard. We got around 19-20 inches of snow over the weekend. It started Friday night and went through about Saturday night.

All this snow was enough to deflate the Metrodome roof. There is a video from inside and it is pretty crazy to watch.. The Vikings and Giants game had to be at first rescheduled becuase the Giants were stuck in Kansas City becasue the MSP airport was closed. Than it was cancled completley in Minnesota when the roof went in. They are now playing in Detroit.

Kodey doesnt have school today between all the snow they are still clearing out and that is is FREEZING cold outside.. So we get to finish some baking that we were doing on Saturday when we were stuck at home becuase I didnt feel the need to go out in all the snow.. Today we might get some things from the store to do some diffrent christmas goodies since I didnt think of making them when I went shopping on Friday..

Fun weekend

What a great weekend we had. John and Coery had a diffrent schedule this weekend where they didnt play on Saturday but they played on Sunday. The Gophers were playing in Mankato so we all got to go to the Gophers Vs. Mavericks game!! Than on Sunday we actally got to go to John and Coreys hockey game! We havnt been able to get to that many with everything else going on since they usually play on Friday or Saturdays. It was great that they played on Sunday since usually Sundays are our down day of the hole week.
We also got all of our christmas decor up in and outside our house this weekend. They boys had a great time decorating the christmas trees.. Yes we have more than one. We have a real one that we went and cut down and than we have a fake on set up downstairs.
Hopefully everyone had a great weekend like us.

More snow

Yup more snow is on it way to us. We are could see up to 7-8 inches of snow when this storm is all done with. It is supose to start around lunch time and have around 1 to 2 inches on the ground so far at around 7:00 tonight. Also than over the nighttime hours we are suppose to accumulate another 3-6 inches depending on where we are living.
It might be an interensing drive home tonight from the Wild game.. A little snow storm never scares me its the other dumb drivers out there on the roads that scare me. I have no problem taking my time and driving slow so I dont get into a wreck but other people think they are always in a sure fired hurry they cant slow down and than they take out everyone in their way.
Hopefully Matt will come home before the game starts so we can all drive together so we dont have 2 vehicles out. Just makes it much eaiser. Than we would all be in same car so we wouldnt have to worry about each other.

I love this time of year! It is such a great time of year. Decorating the tree and the house with all things christmas and snowmen! Having everything freeze outside so we can go out and play pond hockey! They boys really love it! I even enjoy going out there with them and skating every once in a while.
We have our tree all set up and I am slowly getting all the presents wraped and under it. The boys get so excited every time they see a new one under the tree they always have to go and see if it is for them or not.
We have not gone to see Santa yet but I think we are going to try and fit it in this weekend. The boys are super excited to see him and I cant wait to see how Adelyn reacts to him.

Thanksgiving madness

Well we are finally wraping up the week of Thanksgiving. It was so busy I didnt have time to post to my blog or even on facebook exept from my phone. I am trying to catch up on everything that I have missed out on in computer world the last few days.
So we had a wonderful Thanksgiving day and diner. They kids all enjoyed playing out in the snow and inside with the game systems. John and Corey had a blast playing with all the kids too since they didnt have a chance to go home for their own Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful time with family!!
Black friday!!! I just look forward to that day every year! My sisters and sister-in-laws all go out and leave the kids at home with all the men. We got up at 4am!! We all found lots of great deals. I baught one of those $99 blu-ray player for the basement since it is right buy a internet cord we wouldnt have to get the wireless for it anyways so it was a great deal. I baught lots and lots of Wii games, X-Box games and playstation games. Yes we have 3 game systems.. Lots of movies!! I got the new tablet for the Wii and the pictanary game! I also got a Nook color! I also got a lot of clothes and another pair of boots! All in all it was a wonderful day that I spent a lot of money!
After shoping all morning I took everything home and relaxed for a short while re looked at all my purcheses and got back in the car and headed down to the X for the Wild game that late afternoon.
Saturday we went to the Gophers football game where they actually beat the Iowa Hawkeyes and got Floyd (the pig trophy we play for) back where he is supose to be!! Than we went to the Hill-Maurry high school hockey game.
Then today we have a Gopher hockey game this afternoon. That we will be geting ready to go to in just a little while.
So so busy around here... I dont know how we find time to get anything done.. I guess usually most stuff gets done during the middle of the week. We still have some games to unwrap and play a Nook that needs to get some books on it and some movies that need to be watched. When that will all get done.. I have no idea. Probably tomarrow when Matt is at work and Kodey is in school and the other two kiddos are down for rest time.

I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends!

I am also thankful for a big thing this year and that is my beautiful daughter, Adelyn and being able to adopt her. Adoption is such a wonderful thing! I am also thankful for Malynda, my beautiful babies birth mother for being such a wonderful person and now a friend to our family. Without her we would not have our wonderful little eight month old.

Hopefully all of you have a wonderful and safe time with your family on this Thanksgiving day! Dont stuff yourself to much with all the wonderful food we are all going to eat today.

Silly bands

Dont all of us parents love these things.. I find them on the floor in my house all the time. I have a jar in the kitchen that they are supose to be in if they are not on someones wrist. But that jar doesnt always have all of them in it. They are randomly scattred throughout the house for me to find. I still havnt baught Kodey any exept for the Twins ones I baught this summer. He has those on his dresser in his room becuase he doesnt want to wear them because he doesnt want to loose them. Kodey has collected quite a few at school. Kids give them away or lose them. The guys come home with some they find at the rink and give them to the boys. We have got quite the collection of them and ive only bbaught one package that isnt even part of the collection. LOL.

until Thanksgiving!!!

I love thanksgiving! Enjoying great food and getting together with family!!

Our Thanksgiving tradition begins on Thanksgiving eve when I start cooking some of the things that need to be done in advance. Our house gets smalling so wonderful around Thanksgiving. We have had family Thanksgiving at out house for the past 5 or 6 years!
On Thanksgiving day I continue getting everything cooked. Latley the boys have been helping me since they are older now. That is always fun to get them involved with the cooking! We cook together almost all morning! Some family starts to arive in the afternoon and then the boys are over cooking becuase most likley in our family when someone shows up there is another child coming with them so they go play with them instead of helping. By the time everyone and all their food gets here the turkey is done and its time to eat!! We all sit down and eat together. Clean up together and than most years go outside and relax and watch the kids play in the snow. Most of our family that has come in out of town than stays at our house that night. Then the men go downstairs with their been and watch tv. Us woman stay away from them as much possible. We talk about our children, hubbys, work, anything and everything you can think of.
The next day all of us woman go out shopping!! It is so fun with all my sisters and sister-in-laws!! We have done it for the past 5 years and we had so much fun the first year that we have just kept doing it every year.

Music Monday

Our family loves the song "Here comes the sun" by the Beetles. We listen to it a lot. The kids really love it and the boys know how to sing it too. They both have been singing it since they were able to talk. I will always remember Kodey when he was about 2 years old. All you had to say was Here comes the.. and he would always reply sun no matter if we were listening to the song or not. Then when Brycen was around that age Kodey would just start singing out of nowhere and we would have a little show going on between them both singing. I just cant wait until Adelyn is able to sing and then we will have all 3 kiddos singing along with each other.

First snow storm.

We got around 7 inches of snow here over the weekend. It is nuts even for Minnesota. I still cant believe it is before Thanksgiving and we are getting all this snow.
It is always fun to have to go somewhere with the first snow storm of the year. I dont mind driving in the snow at all its just the other people that make me nervious. You would think some people havnt driven in the snow before. I just cant believe how easy people forget how to drive in the snow. SLOW DOWN.. Leave earler for where youre going and drive slower.. Its those reckless people who still think they need to drive over the speed limit and tailgate you who are the ones who get themselves and the ones around them in trouble.

I had to take some pictures of the crazyness before Thanksgiving while Matt and I were out in it. Dont worry I wasnt driving.

What is the best live concert you have been to? Or a show if you dont go to concerts?

I have a few that I cant miss seeing when they come to town! I dont know if I could rank them in any way because they are all great in their own way! Here is a list of my favorites in no order.

Shinedown is great becuase Brent(lead singer) is always talking with the fans and not just going up there and singing and then going off stage like some bands do. He makes sure you know what is going on in the world and one thing he almost always tells the fans on the floor to move back becuase he doesnt like to see the guys in the front rail getting smashed.

Nickelback love them or hate them they put on a great show. Chad is always talking between every song. They usually also play a couple clips of other popular old songs that they hole arena gets singing to.

Papa Roach is a great live band too. Jacoby usually got into the crowd once a concert. Ive been to ones that he has walked around the hole arena giving fans high fives and singing with them. He has also climbed poles that are by the stage that hold up the top and speakers.

Skillet is amazing! They put on a great show! They arnt really the story telling back as some of the ones I mentioned above are but they dont have to be the way their music and preformance is on stage.

If you get a chance becuase its not letting me embend youtube today go to youtube and type in those bands names and put live behind it and you will probably find some great footage.

A day at home

After we take Kodey to school Brycen and Addie come home with me usually. Somedays I do drop them off at daycare for a couple hours. On those normal days they are home with me we do all kinds of things. I didnt put Brycen in 3 year old pre school becuase I find that I am teaching him just as much at home as the preschools that I checked into are doing in their classroom. So I guess you would say that I am kind of homeschooling him but really we all homeschool our children if you think about it.
Bry and I do all kinds of fun things during the day!! We finger paint, water color, play with clay, play-doh and so on. And we dont leave Addie out of our fun either. She loves painting with us too!! I also have baught these workbooks that you find at Target, Wal-Mart, ETC. That he does. We have most of the subjects. He is doing great with them and he is always wanting to work on them!
I am so lucky to have two boys that love doing school work. I am hoping that it stays that way all the way though their schooling.

Scentsy

Ive just recently got some scentsy!! They are little bars of wax that you sit on a warmer that gets warmed by a lightbulb. The sents smell soooo good! I have one in just about every room now!! If you havnt ever seen these things make sure you go and check them out becuase they are just amazing! They have all kinds of diffrent warmers too. They even have colleges for those of you who are college lovers. They have holiday ones so you can have them out a decor and still make your house smell good!

So sorry I havnt posted since Wednesday. Ive been busy. Im always thinking about what to write in my blogs and have great ideas until I actually have time to sit down and write a post and then I go blank. So bare with me here.
We had a very busy weekend. Kodey had a hockey game on Saturday that they won 7-4! He got 2 goals!! We also were bouncing around towns and arenas. We went to the Wild game on Friday, thank goodness we did because the Gophers got smoaked by the Badgers that night.. On Saturday we went to Kodeys game and then at 4 we went to a little bit of the Gophers womans hockey game and than walked across the sidewalk to the Mens game when it was time to start. I just love how all the Gophers soprts are right in the same area within walking distance and not scattred all through the campus.

Kodey is doing great in school. He is learning so much and is so smart. His teacher says that he is already reading at a end of 1st grade level and he gets harder spelling words than everyone else becuase he is such a great speller. It is almost to the point where if I dont know how to spell something I just ask Kodey. LOL. He really enjoys reading. I just went to Barnes and Nobel and baught him some new books for him to read and he just loves it.

Mr. Bry is my little I have to be doing something all the time otherwise we are all going to hear about it. We have been working on workbooks throughout the day so that he is ready for school next fall. He is really excited to go to school. He will always ask when do I get to go to school like Kodey. He will be in pre school next year. I just cant believe it.

Little miss Adelyn is getting so big. She is standing with help and is even walking along furnature. I just recentally took away her bottle for good. She didnt do to bad exept for a couple times during nap and bedtime the first couple days. She is fine with it now since she has got used to it. Next up is taking the Nuk away. That could be a little more termatic than the bottle since it seems like she always has one in her mouth. But I cant stand it when kids who can walk have pacifiers. So it is going soon no matter if she likes it or not.

Hello Wednesday! Its good to see the week half over!!

Time to get all the Halloween docor away and get out our Thanksgiving things!

Time to eat all that candy. I have some of it in the bowl on the counter. When Kodey comes home from school he gets to pick a piece of candy(if he was good). Kodey also gets a couple of them in his lunch box for lunch that day. Brycen also get a couple pieces throughout the day. And I snag some to throughout the day. I also filled up another bowl and took it downstairs to the living area down there for the guys to eat. I havnt been down there since I took it down there and its probably gone already. They are a good way to get stuff gone around here. LOL.

We just baught this Quick Stickz game/training thing for Kodey and Brycen when he gets a little older. There is a ball and a reciever that tracks that ball and it works with you on puck handling. We set it up downstairs where all the other hockey things are at so if it got out of control it wouldnt hurt anything. If your child plays hockey I would reccoment getting this. Kodey had a game this morning that they won 5-2. He got a goal and an assist too. He is always so excited when he scores. Matt calls him little Ovi becuase he is always so excited when he scores a goal just like Ovechkin is.

Tonight there is a Wild game. They boys arnt using their actual halloween costumes. They are going to dress up as hockey players just for the game. They both have a Wild jersey they are going to wear and their helmets and gloves. I havnt decided if I want to bring their sticks along to or not. Kodey is going to be Koivu and Brycen is going to be Clutterbuck. Those are their favorite players!! Matt also had the idea of painting on Cals facial hair so that he looks more like him. I dont know what Addie is going to be wearing tonight. I havnt decided if I want her to just wear a plain halloween shirt or do the hockey player theme too.

With halloween getting closer we have the outside of the house all decorated!! The pumpkins all carved and painted!! We still have to buy some candy for us to hand out.
We only usually go trick-or-treating for about a half hour around the block really. They boys dont need that much candy and neither do we since we are the ones who usually eat most of it anyways. We come back and let the boys had out candny the rest of the time to the kids who come to our door. This will be our first halloween at our new house so it will be interesting to see if it is any diffrent(number of kids wise) from our old house.

I do love snow but I dont really know if I am ready for it yet. It is looking like just today and than its supose to get a little warmer again. Thankfully it is just here for looks so far this year. Give me a couple more weeks to get all the things I need to get down outside before it snows on us. Matt needs to get all the christmas lights up before it gets to cold outside. We also need to get the shell of the hockey rink up before it snows. After we get all of that done it can snow away. I was not expecting this when I woke up this morning. They said it might snow but I never usually believe them because most of the time they are wrong but I guess this time they were actually right.

It is busy as usual here with hockey, hockey and more hockey. Kodey has been doing great so far this year. They havnt had to many games yet. They have had 4 games so far and they have won all but 1 of them!! Kodey has a couple goals to his stats so far too! This weekend they have their first real away game outside of the cities. We are going up to St. Cloud which is only about an hour away. We will be up there for 2 games.
Brycen has also been busy with hockey. He is just in house league which is just games played against your own teammates at your home rink so there is no travel involved with Bry like there is for Kodey. But Bry has been doing great in his 'games' too. Everyone wins in his games because they never keep score. They are just out there having fun at his stage.

Adelyn is getting so big she is crawling all over the place now. So I now have a mover!! She is trying to pull herself up on things. She can sometimes get up and stand and sometimes she gives up. She just adores her brothers!! They are already teaching her hockey. She gets a stick and she really just flings it around but once in a while she will sling it in the right direction and hit a ball. Kodey will help her out alot and hold her hands on the stick and help her swing and score a goal.

Our hockey boys that we are housing a great with all the kids. They put up with the noise and distraction they bring with they go downstairs to play. We have been to a few of their games but havnt made it to all of them. They have went skating with the boys and try and teach them some things too! They are both excited that we make a backyard rink. They both grew up with one and are really excited for it to freeze so they go backyard skating!!

This video below is of what happened last night at the Wild game. First Rick Rypien of the Vancouver Canucks came in late to this hit and he really came over to it for no reason exept to try and start a fight. Then Rypien goes and punches Staubitz (The Wild player) when they are being held back by the linemen. And any player or fan who knows hockey knows you are supose to stop when the linemen/refs are holding you back or seporating you. Rypien and Staubitz continue to chirp at each other as the ref is trying to get Rypien off the ice and Staubitz is really just standing there like get off the ice buddy. Then when Rypein is FINALLY moved off the ice and told to go to the dressing room a Wild fan is standing by his seat not leaning over or getting in his face or touch him in any way and Rypien just attacks him. FYI - Those fans were not kicked out of the arena they were just moved to front row seats for the safty of them incase some other Canucks players wanted to attack them.

Baby first TV

I dont know if any of you out there have the channel Baby First TV. One of our friends has it and when I was at their house with Adelyn she just loved the shows on there. So we decided to get it for our house too!
They have some great shows with learning and moving. They have a sign language show that I just love!! They also have a gym one that Addie and I get to do movement things!!
At nighttime I think is the greatest thing ever! They have lullabys and soothings pictures. It puts Adalyn right to sleep now. I had a CD that I had playing before and I just think since its the same over and over again that she is just sick and annoyed by it anymore. So having that on for her every night puts her right to sleep. I also record some for naptimes!!
With Directv it is $5 a month but I really think it is worth. It is cheaper than buying a bunch of DVDs for baby that will just be the same thing over and over again.

I think I would have one in Vancouver!! I love my beach house in Florida but I just love Vancouver. It is so beautiful there and the weather is usually pretty decent.

Little miss Adelyn is 7 months old today!!! She is getting so big!!! She has a couple teeth coming in on the bottom! She is such a funny little girl. She will laugh her head off at her brothers. They will make a funny face at her and she will just laugh and laugh. She is also starting to hold her own when she doesnt want them by her. She gave Bry a pretty nice smack on the face the other day.

Minnesota Wild opening night is tonight.. Finally.. Alfter being in Finland they are finally back for their home opener!! It is a day full of events. Bry, Addie and I are going down there to visit daddy and to also meet up with some of our hockey 'family' we havnt seen for a while. We will then go get Kodey from school at 3 and then head back down town. Get something to eat and than get ready for the hockey game!!! Hopefully they can actually win a game for us!!

Brycen loves going to daycare so I have been droping him off most days for a few hours. I love the daycare!! I have been taking my kids there since Kodey was about 4 months old. They are a great group of girls/ladies. They always make sure that Brycen always gets to do the craft they did that day/week even if he comes in after they have done it.

Kodey came home on Friday with a picture that he drew at school for Brycen for his birthday. My sweet little guys would never forget about his little brothers birthday!! He was so excited to give it to him. When we went to pick him up from school he got in the car and said "Bugsey I got a suprise for you!!" While im thinking about what this could possibly be.. Bry says "What is it? I wanna see, I wanna see." Kodey pulls the paper out of his backpack and says "Here bugs I made you a birthday card!! It says Happy Birthday Bugsey Boy. Love, Kodey. Because youre my little brother and I love you!"

I will have to say that I was about to cry watching and listening to this hole thing. Kodey is such a sweatheart and will always make sure to make your day!!

Four years ago today my little 7 pound, 4 ounce Brycen Alexander was born! I just cant believe that he is 4 years old today. About this time last year I was just going into labor as Bry wasnt born untll 11:27 PM.

Today he is 4 years old!!! He is our little dare devil. He is not scared of anything. He is the one you have to look after the most. He will go on any ride his hight will allow at MOA or any other amuesment park or Waterpark.
This summer we were at the pool and the lifegaurd was at the bottom of the slide catching the littler ones so they could go down by themselves. Well Bry went down by himself about 100 times that day. One of the times he went down he was after one of the kids who couldnt swim the greatest so the lifegaurd was taking them to the stairs as Bry was coming down. The lifegaurd wasnt over quite in time to catch Bry. He can swim pretty well but when he goes down the slide he goes under. Well when he came up he was coughing and spitting out water and the first thing he said was "That was awesome!!!" The lifegaurd just looked at him like are you crazy you just drank half the pool.. LOL. But that is my little daredevil.

We are having his birthday party this afternoon with family and friends!! Some of his friends are going to come with us to the Gopher game tonight too.

Well last night didnt go as expected with the Twins losing. I am starting to believe that the Twins dont know how to win in the postseason. After the regular season is over.. Or after they clinch a spot in the postseason the Twins are done for. It seems like this happens every year. I guess it really does happen every year it doesnt just seem like it.
Im not sure wether I want to go to the Twins game tonight or stay home in my nice warm house and watch some NHL hockey on my TV. We will probably end up going to the game but its just a thought. Kodey is the only one who goes with us to the games since we have to pay for everyone since its postseason. He is the only one who actually stays awake for the game and can pay attention to the game.

The Wild start their season in just about an hour. They are playing the Hurricanes over in Finland so they are hours ahead of us. It will be very strange to watch the Wild during the day. Kodey is kind of upset that he has to go to school instead of getting to stay home and watch the game. Oh well I am recording it so he can watch it later if he wants to. He will probably forget or not want to watch it by the time he gets home anyways..

Hopefully the Wild will actually be able to win a game today since they didnt win any preseason games it could be a long year.. Also hopefully the Twins will show up tonight and beat those Skankees.

Totally random Tuesday

I know this is a title but im not for sure if its supose to be Tuesday or Thursday. Well I am going to make it Tuesday. Anyways.....

We have been pretty busy latly. Kodey has started hockey so we are at that quite a bit. His first game is this weekend. They are only playing one game this weekend to ease into it for the kids. It is Saturday at 8:30 at our rink so come out if you would like.
Kodey has been doing great in school. He is so smart. He is becoming a really great reader. We have got him some new books that he is reading and it suprises me on how well he can sound out words.

Brycen is almost 4 year old. We are having his birthday party on his actual birthday this year since it falls on a Saturday! He is super excited!! I think I have just about everything ready. I just need to make his cake.
I have been working with Bry on some of his work books latly so that he is ready for pre school next year and he is doing a great job on those!! He is smarter than I think sometimes. He will tell me something and I will be like where did you learn that? It is amazing what he picks up from Kodey.

Little miss Adelyn is almost 7 months old. It is hard to believe she is getting so big. I love it at this age. They are getting to where they are playing and starting to stand up and crawl around. Yes it does make it more work to watch her and try to get some work done around the house but I love it. She is crawling all around now, well when he brothers arnt messing with her. She is starting to pull herself up onto furnature too!!

It has been getting pretty chilly here latly. We have a Twins play off game on Wednesday and it is at 7:30 PM.. So you know it is going to be chilly. I heard that is should be in the low 60s at first pitch so you know that it is just going to drop from there. I am sure glade that we can go sit inside the club area and be warm and still watch the game. That is what Addie and I did at the begining of the year.

What are your favorite TV shows?

I dont watch many tv series since we are usually watching some kind of sport on our tv. I thought this was the perfect spot to ask people what they like to watch. Really the only things I watch on a regular basis is. American Chopper Senior Vs. Junior, Kate plus 8, Quints by suprise, Ace of Cakes, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I do watch Psych every once in a while. I am also waiting for Storm Chasers to start!! It starts on the 13th!!

Are you a stay at home mom, do you work or work from home? What do you do if you work?

I work at a photo studio part-time mostly. I do get some full-time weeks when it is busy like around the holidays when everyone thinks they want pictures of their kids at the same time. I also do some photography on my own. I take pictures at Kodeys hockey games and most of the parents will pay me to make a CD of their kid(s) at the end of the season. I also do some childrens shoots and a few seniors every once in a while.

I havnt been on here all week. We have been pretty busy. With getting Kodey off to school and ive been working some too.
The Minnesota Twins won the Central Division championship again for the 6th time in the last 9 years(I think).. Yup were pretty good. And just about every year I think the "experts" pick someone else to win the division. I dont remember who they picked to win it this year. I think some picked the White Sox.. Well we were just the first team to clinch a post-season spot and with a division. We are also one of the top 3 teams with the best record in the hole major league baseball.. I could go on and on about how amazing this team is but I will stop waisting your time..
We also had our first preseason hockey game for the Wild yesterday.. There was only 16,000+ there. I know that sounds like a lot but when we are use to selling out the place at 18,000+ every game for 500+ games it is kind of strange to see the place with 2,000 less people. Even though I dont think the preseason games should count since there are 500 other things to do around town and going to a game that doesnt even count might seem like the last thing people would go to..

Kodey has gone to the Tune-Up tournament in Waterloo, Ia the last 2 years! He really loves it! This year we got a couple other twin cities kids to go down with us. I really do enjoy these tournaments that are just a bunch of kids from various places stuck on a few teams instead of your towns team playing against other towns. It lets us all meet new hockey families from around the area. I am one who loves to meet new people and talk to other hockey moms at the rink and this is the perfect fit for me. I made some new freinds this weekend and reconected with some old friends I meet in years past.

Kodeys team did great!! They didnt win for their division but they came in 2nd! So they only lost one game. Kodey did awesome too. He had 6 goals over the weekend and 9-10 assists.

Do you keep a baby book for your child(ren)??

I have a book for each of my children. Along with the book they each have a box, like a tote box that has other things in it too.. The book has the normal things like the birth stats and a calendar of the first years things they have done. I also have a picture page with a picture taken at every birthday. I have some hair from both the boys first haircut(Addie hasnt had a haircut yet). I also keep track of things that they do and some funny things that they say. I also put things like programs from some of Kodeys hockey tounaments and things like that stuff in their boxes. I am planing on giving them their box and book when they graduate and move out.

First day of school

Kodey started school today! He is in 1st grade now. I cant believe how big he is. He was so excited to go this morning and I didnt want him to go. It means he is growing up and way to fast. Here are a few pictures of him going to his first day!! Such a big boy!

Brycen is not going to be in 3 year old preschool. Im not a huge believer in sending your child to preschool for two years unless there is a learning issue or some other issue. They are kids so just let them be kids for a while they will have plenty of schooling as they get older. We do have work books that we work on at home in the morning and at night. He is doing the preschool one and is doing a wonderful job on it!
I wish that I wouldnt have to send him to preschool next year. He is just so tiny. He is the same size as our friends little boy who is 2 1/2. He is still wearing 2T/3T clothes and he is going to be 4 years old in a month. When I took Kodey to school this morning I seen some on the 3 year old preschool kids and they were all so much biger than Bry. Who know how much he will grow in this year and I wouldnt hold him back just because of his size if they say he is ready. But it will just be hard to do knowing that he is probably going to be the smallest one.

With summer winding down and fall coming soon. What do you like most about fall? What are you not looking forward to?

I love fall! The weather gets cooler and and the leaves start to change. I love wearing sweatpants and hoodies! I enjoy being able to go to the park and not come home sweating so much that I have to shower. Also hockey will be starting soon and fall to me just screams football season!! The things im not looking forward to is it getting darker sooner, cleaning up all of those leaves that fall. I do love this time of year so I dont really have to many things I dont like about it.

This has felt like the longest week ever. On Tuesday I had jury duty. Sitting there for 6-7 hours felt like 5 days. It has felt like Friday to me since Tuesday. I am hoping that I dont have to go to jury duty again for a long long time. Im one who thinks that its a waist of my time and half the time I am confussed at the terms they are using.

Today in Minnesota there is like a million things going on. For one the State fair is still happening. Which we will probably go over to again today! They boys just love it! We also have a Twins game tonight! The Vikings also play tonight. So for the first time the Twins and Vikes will be playing at the same time. That will also make it be very busy downtown. Since the places they play are within about 12 blocks of each other. Also some HS football teams are starting up tonight too!! And the Gophers football teams starts off their season in TN and they are having a watch party at TCF! What to go to? What to go to?

Our two hockey boys are here now! They are both seniors in high school. We have already meet both of their parents they come with them to make sure they got to the right places and get their school stuff all set up. They are both very nice people! Cant wait for the games to start. They both said that they would try to be to as many games as they could. The guys are both enjoying the boys! Which is a good thing becuase so guys enjoy children and so of them and more like just stay away. But they both do enjoy playing with them.

We are giving both our dogs to our friends up in Brooklyn Park. They are our old neighbors and they have always loved them. I personally getting tired of cleaning up after them. Mikko is the worst because he sheds all over and im cleaning up hair all over the place. The good thing is though he knows hes not supose to go on furnature so at least I dont have to clean that off to. But I know they will love them and we will still be able to go and see them if we want to. We are looking into getting a non sheading dog but I dont know yet.

The new Papa Roach CD comes out tomarrow!! They are one of my favorite bands. They are amazing in concert. If you havnt seen them live it is totally worth going to see if you like rock. Jocoby and crew really put on a great show!! I have been to a lot of concert and they are up in the top 3 in awesome concerts. Everytime they come around we are there and everytime they put on an awesome show!!

We are finally home. I have mostly everything all unpacked and slowly getting everything through the washer.
We had a great time but it feels so great to be home though. Finally a night in our own beds!!

It was a blast going through the hockey hall of fame! The boys thought it was pretty awesome too!! It is amazing all the things in there. If you are a hockey fan I would go in a heartbeast it is really worth going to see. Here are a few pictures from there.

Hockey camp is over

Hockey camp for Kodey is all over. He had a great time! Made some new friends and learned some new things!! He cant wait to come back again next year!! I dont know what we are going to do next year as Brycen will be able to be in the Tyke program which Kodey will be to old for. So hopefully the two camps are close together because I dont want to have to come up here twice.
We are now in Toronto going to the hockey hall of fame later today and viewing the city a little bit more. I wish the Blue Jays would have had a night game so we could have went to that but its during the middle of the day and we wouldnt have time to do much else.

I did refuse to buy the boys some until I got them a pack of Minnesota Twins ones when they came out. Those are the only ones they are getting. Im not going to let them have them lined up all the way up their arms like some kids have.

last full day of hockey camp. He has a half day tomarrow that is going to be mostly playing a game with everyone at camp! He is really excited about that.
Bry is having fun but I think just about every hour he asks me if he can go play hockey with Kodey. And I have to tell him that it is a camp and that you have to be signed up and you have to be at least 4 years old. So next year he will be able to skate! But next year I think we are going to have to come up here twice becuase Kodey is going to be to old for this camp next year and Brycen will be just old enough. Hopefully they have both camps within two weeks of each other so we can just be here for two weeks instead of having to come and go and come again. Who knows what we will do I guess we will figure it out next summer when it comes time for the camps.
It is really amazing how much Kodey has learned this year even with taking this same camp last summer. He is picking up on the things that he couldnt quite to last year. He is so excited and ready for hockey to start back home now.
We will be leaving and heading back to Toronto tomarrow after he is done and going to the Hockey Hall of Fame and than heading back home on Sunday.

Oh Canada

We are in Canada, Peterborough, Ontario to be exact, for Kodeys hockey camp! He has had one day of camp so far and he loved it. It runs until Friday. He and Matt are actually at the rink right now for day 2 of camp. Bry, Addie and I are going to go and find a good place to eat some breakfast and than go to the rink and watch Kodey.
We flew into Toronto on Sunday and spent a few hours there. We went to the CN Tower. Went and seen the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre. It was pretty awesome going up in the CN Tower. The boys really loved it! They have a glass floor kind of like the Sears Tower has. They just loved that. My boys have no fears really.
After camp is over on Friday we will be heading back to Toronto and going to the Hockey Hall of Fame. And then flying back to Minnesota on Saturday.

It is almost time for hockey season to start!! We are all heading up to Canada next week for Kodeys hockey camp! I decided that we should all go this year just becuase Matt is the only one who went with him last year and I wanted to see Canada and my little boy in his camp! Matt said last year he really improved in the 5 days there so I just couldnt miss out this year.

I also just got a call from Ross on the hockey players that we will be housing this year. We will once again have two players. We have enough room and I think it is better for them to have someone that lives with them from the team. They have the hole basement to themseleves exept with Kodey and Bry invade them. LOL. We have done this housing for 3 years now and it has been great. We still talk to our frist player we had who is going to school and playing hockey at St. Cloud St. They have always been great with the kids and enjoy playing with them. If you have a hockey team by you and you are able to house players I really recomend it becase it is a great time and you really do create friendships that last a long time. And you never know you could be getting to know an NHLer!!

We are back home from Florida. I guess we have been for a while now but im just getting around to posting on my blog.
We all had a great time down there in our new vacation house! It is an amazing house and cant wait until we can go back again. Hopefully this winter we might be able to find a time to go down. But it will probably be more of the springtime for us because of everything hockey around here..

Kodey has hockey camp up in Cananda again this year at the end of the month! It is his last year of the tyke program. This year we are all going up there with him instead of just Matt going with him like last year.

Kodey starts 1st grade.. Yes I did say 1st grade. I know, I know its hard to believe my baby boy is going to be in 1st grade this year. Anyways school starts on the 7th here. He is really excited to go back and see some of his friends that he doesnt get to see much during the summer.

Brycen will not be starting school this year. I was going back and forth wether to put him in a 3 year old preschool program and I decided not to as of the begining of the year. They do have half year preschool that I might sign him up for but I dont really know. I personally dont think he needs 2 full years of preschool. I didnt even put Kodey in 3 year old preschool so I probably wont put Bry in it either.

Little miss Addie is 5 months old today!! I cant believe she is getting so big. Next month she will be a half year old. Its amazing on how much she can do! She is just getting so big. She just loves her big brothers but she is already starting to defend herself and push them away when she doesnt want them by her.

I dont know if any of you even watch the little league baseball games that are on ESPN every year but this year the Plymouth/New Hope team has made it all the way to the final game which is today at noon CT. Matts cousins little guy plays on the team. So it is pretty fun to watch him. If they win today they will be going to Williamspots for the Little League World Series!! So if your not busy today tune into ESPN and cheer on those little Minnesotans!!

Florida update

We made it to Florida!! Our beach house is amazing!! This is the first time that we have seen it in person. I just love it. I could so leave down here. All exept I would really miss everything and everyone in Minnesota..

We spent the last two days in Orlando going to Disney!! The boys just love it there. We have came down every year since Kodey was 2 years old. They both look forward to it every year!! Kodey is getting big enough to go on most of the bigger rides now. So he and daddy go and I stay down with Brycen and Adelyn and watch people or let Bry go on a smaller ride.
It was Kodeys first time that he was able to go on the roller costers! He was so excited to go. Matt said that he had a blast. I was kind of scared that he wouldnt enjoy it. But what am I thinking my kids are daredevils. Brycen would probably go on them if he was tall enough.

Today we are just going to have a relaxing day on the beach and just relaxing around the house. Orlando really tired the boys out. I think we need a down day to refuel. We are going to Adventure Island tomarrow!! We might also go to Busch Gardens too sometime yet. And we still have to go to the zoo.

Everything has been great here! Exept a little ear infection for Adelyn. I took her to the doctor the other day and they gave her some meds and she is already doing better! She is a tough little girl.

We are heading to the airport this afternoon to fly down to Florida to stay in our new beach house for a week!!

So its finally Wednesday!!

It has been pretty busy since the Twins are back in town playing the Tigers. They are fighting for the division lead. The Twins lost the first game giving up the lead and they won last night taking back over the division lead.
It has been a strange series. We have had some things heppen that I have never seen before. Jim Thome getting a triple for the first time in about 6 years, Joel Zumaya break his elbow on a pitch and Denard Span get a hat trick in triples.

On with our home life.. The kids have all been doing great. Adelyn is just getting so big and learning so much stuff. They boys just love her and they try and help her do new things all the time. Their latest thing is trying to get her to crawl. But she hasnt mastered that one yet.

We are really excited about the 4th of July weekend coming up. One the Twins are playing the Rays and I cant wait to see the Rays!! Also the boys are really excited and cant wait to go to the parade in Eagan! We went last year and they had a blast so we decided to go again. We will also get to see a bunch of fireworks shows. On the 2nd the Twins are having their first postgame fireworks show, on the 3rd we are going down to Bloomington to go to their fireworks show, and then on the 4th its the big red, white and boom in Minneapolis!! Or we might go to St. Pauls fireworks too. Havnt decided about that one yet. So we have a pretty busy weekend coming up.

Soory I havnt been posting. I have been busy and just havnt thought about it..

While I was gone my sister had her baby. Little baby girl, Siri Rose. Who was born on June 19th. She joins her big sister Carys who is so happy to have a baby sister. They live in St. Cloud which is only about an hour from us to see them over the weekend along with Monday and Tuesday. It was great to see them and to spend time with both of the girls!!

Kodey has been doing great in t-ball!! He is just loving it. His team is doing pretty well. They did lose the other night to a team that looked like they were a lot older. They had a lot of really tall kids and ones that could hit really hard and catch pretty well. They were down 8-0 in the second inning but they did come back and only lost 11-13!

Brycen... Oh Mr. Brycen... What do I say about him.. He is our little Mr. I have to be doing something all the time or im bored. So we have been going to the pool a lot and playing in the pool in the pack yard along with our sprinkler and slip n slide. He just loves water.. I really think that he could live at the pool if we would let him. He always wants to be doing something in the water. He is doing great in swimming lessons. He is having a lot of fun!!

Adelyn is getting so big already.. She is already 3 months old. It is had to believe it. She just started to roll over a little from her tummy to her back. It was so cute when she first started. She would fall over from her tummy to her back and look around like what just happened.. They we would put her back up and she would do it again. LOL. Then when she finally learned what was going on she will roll over to her back and just start laughing like crazy. She sure is a funny little girlie..

It was not me who totally forgot the umbrella and rain coats in the car at the Twins autograph party. I am one to always be prepaired so I would never forget something like that. Matt ran back to the car and got them when it started raining.

I deffenitly did not lift Brycen over the wall and let him look over in the bullpin. I would never let my children hang over a wall that is say 2 stories up. Nope never it wasnt me.

I also have a couple "Not my child" ones!!

Kodey is deffenitly not my outspoken child who while at the autograph party told Kevin Slowey that his mommy thinks he is cute.

We watched almost all of it. We did miss a game for t-ball though. We were happy with the outcome. I am not a huge fan of the Flyers so I am glade that the BlackHawks won!!

Sorry there was no Not Me Monday. About the only time I have to blog is in the morning and Blogger was down as most of you know. It was really frustrating becuase everytime I tried to log in it wouldnt let me. But it is working now!! I was working yesterday so that is why there was no post.

The kids all all having a blast at day care! They boys had a picnic yesterday and got to play at the local park by the day care too! They couldnt stop talking about it so that means they sure did have fun!! Next week they will be moving Adelyn into the 3-6 month old room. I cant believe she is already moving out of the newborn room. She is growing so fast.

We have been spending days swimming in our little pool and playing in the sprinkler and slip n slide.. We have been to the water park and big swimming pool a couple times but with it still only being open on weekends until I think this week. It was hard to get there on a warm and not rainy day.

Not much else has been going on here. Exept Kodeys t-ball which has been going great. He really enjoys it!! The Twins are finally back in town so that is where we will be the next few days.. The autograph party is coming up this weekend. They boys are super excited they always love it when they get to meet them. Also Hang with the Majors at Majors is coming up at the end of the month too! The boys really enjoy that because it is more relaxed and most of the players bring there kids along that are Kodey and Brycens age so they enjoy running around and playing with them.

This question comes from our talks at work about taking the kids swimming this summer. Some of the workers dont think the 3 year olds should be able to go and some, like me, think they should be allowed to go since there is going to be a lot of us workers and of course lifegaruds at the pool.

Do/did your kids take swimming lessons? If so when did they start?

My boys have been taking swimming lessons since they were about 6 months old and I am planning on getting Addie signed up as soon as she turns 6 months. I think that it is just a safe thing to do. We love to go to the pool and I want my kids to be able to have fun and not just have to sit in the baby pool there hole childhood. Also some of our friends have in ground pools at there house.

Sorry I havnt posted in a couple days. We went up to our family cabin for Memorial weekend and just got back yesterday. That was a relazing day and I just didnt feel like posting anything after that long weekend.

Kodey is all done with Kindergarten now! I still cant believe he is going to be in 1st grade next year.
Here is a picture of Kodey and some of his class(Sorry I kind of cut off some children by mistake). He is the one in kind of the middle of the back row. 6th from the right and 4th from the left. He had a great time and was so excited to be graduation!

We are all ready for the summer to get going here. The boys cant wait for the pools to get open full time. We have been going swimming in our pool which a a pretty good sized pool for the boys. Exept there are no sprayers or anything and there are no slides. So they get bored after a little while.

We still havnt picked any times to go down to Florida to our new beach house. I really need to sit down and find a few times we can go down there. What is the lest important things we are going to miss because our family is bound to miss out on something when were gone since we are so busy.

Kodey has his list day of kindergarten tomarrow. Friday is his graduation day! I still cant believe that he is going to be graduating from kindergarten.. Before I know it he will be graduating from high school... I dont even want to think about that now..

My friend, Melissa from Duluth, MN is here this week! I havnt seen her in about 2-3 years. She and her husband just had another baby boy, Mason. They also have an older boy, Drew who is Brycen's age! She is here until Saturday!

Kodey only has 7 days of school left! He is really excited for it to be summer. He cant wait for baseball to start. He is starting practice soon. And I still need to get him some new pants since the ones from last year are to small for him already.

While Kodey is at school I have been working hard with my little guy, Brycen on writing his name. He has finally got it down!! (I will post a picture of it later. I dont have them downloaded yet.)

I have still yet to decide if we are going to put Bry in 3 year old preschool or not. I am not a big fan of 3 year old preschool but the only reason I am thinking about this is because he is an October birthday and he would be starting 4 year old preschool at over 4 1/2 years old.

Today it is supose to get up to 80 out!! It seems that the nice weather is finally here!! We are going to the park with friends! Brycen just loves it when we go to the park! Addie enjoys being out in the fresh air also!

My hasband and I are big into music and going to concerts! We have been going since we have been together. We are a rock kind of family. Our kids have listened to rock since they were born.
Kodey went to his first concert last year or the year before at the Minnesota State Fair and saw 3 Doors Down and has been to a few more concerts since then!
Some may think that it is wrong to expose your children to some rock bands. All they talk about is sex, drugs and booz, they wear make-up, have tatoos, etc... I am not the kind of parent to tell my child No you cant go to the concert because they might talk about those things or they might see other things. If you have been to a rock concert latley you will see that I am not the only parent who lets my child come with.
And I know some of you may be wondering if my children use bad language.. Well they dont actually. Now how can they not say the F, A or S words? Well they know that it is only for use in the song and they dont go around saying F this or F that. Its not like I let my children listen to hardcore rap music.
We are going to Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown and Sick Puppies on Monday and Kodey is coming with us!!
Has anyone ever seen any of these bands? They are all amazing!! Brent from Shinedown is awesome I wish I could meet him. He talks to the crowd a lot and is very insperational too. Chad from Nickelback is great! He makes you laugh, I think between almost every song!

Do your kids play any sports? What age did they start? Do you enjoy going to watch them?

Both my boys play hockey and have played hockey since they were 3. I do enjoy going to all their games and practices. It really becomes a big family though the season!

Kodey is also playing t-ball this year too which will be his first year of that.

With these temps we have been having the last few days I have been wondering where May has gone. I mean look at those.. 46, 52.. And those are the highs for the day. Those should usually be the lows. At least this weekend is looking a lot better!!!

We have another day game for the Twins. They are better than night games because it is a little bit warmer even though it is still cold. I am not a fan of sitting out in the cold and watching the game. Addie and I are usually found in the Delta 360 club where it is warm and we can still see the game!!

I am so thankful that my sister had a baby girl in November so she had a baby girl winter coat. I have had to barrow it from her these past couple days since it has been so chilly. I was not about to have my little girl wearing the boys winter coats.. And you cant find them in stores since it is supose to be warm. So a big THANK YOU goes out to my sister!! Addie really loves it..

I hope that everyone had a great Mother's day!

My day was great!! I got flowers from my hubby and kids. I also recieved a spa gift from them!! Kodey also gave me his gift that he made for me a Kindergarten! It is so cute! We went to the Twins game and it wasnt that bad out. I guess low 60s isnt that great but when it has been raining most of the week and freezing I will take 60s and no rain any day. The Twins won too, 6-0! After the game we walked over to Cold Stone and treated ourselves to some ice cream!
It has been a long day. The kids a all sleeping now! It is about time for me to head to bed too. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Mothers Day too!!

I enjoy just spending the day with my kiddos!! I love it when they make me handmade gifts. Those are the greatest and love to keep those for down the road when they get older and then I can look back at them. I also do enjoy the flowers I usually get from my husband!

Happy Cinco De Mayo! Even though we are not of Mexican decent I thought it would be fun to celebrate the 5th of May with some fun Mexican foods.

For breakfast I am making some Fruity Yogurt Crepes.
8 Flour Tortillas
2 1/2 cups fat free Vanilla Yogurt
3 1/2 cups assorted Fresh Fruit, sliced
3/4 cup fat free Granola
Place tortillas on a work surface. Spoon 1/4 cup yogurt down the center of each and top with 1/4 fruit salad. Roll up and place onto serving plates. Top each with remaining fruit and a dollop of yogurt. Sprinkle with granola and serve

For lunch since there is a Twins game this afternoon we will be going to Chipotle instead of me cooking something.

For dinner I am making Tacos and for the dessert we are having Churros!

I get to go back to work today!! Why in the work would I be so excited to go back to work? Well I love my job. I get to take pictures of babies and children. And when its slow the girls and I play around with pictures on photoshop or just goof around.
Addie is going to day care for the first time today. I think she will do great! We are friends with almost all of the workers at the day care we go to since we have been going there since Kodey was about 4 months old. Addie has already been around a couple of the girls that are in the infant room so she shouldnt freak out about a total stranger holding her. The only thing I am worried about is how many times Brycen will ask them how his Addie is doing and can he go see her.
I am working today from 9-2 so they will only be there for 5 hours. I am sure the girls there will wish I will keep them there longer. They all just love the boys and cant wait until Addie comes today!

Kodey's school has Kindergarten round-up today so he has the day off! So all 3 of us have the day together! We are taking a trip to the Childrens Museum!

Sorry it has been so long once again. The weather is getting to be nicer here and we have been spending most of it oustide!

Kodey is doing great in school. I still cant believe he is almost done with Kindergarten. He only has about a month left. He is signed up for baseball this summer which starts on May 15 and goes to July 17. They play at the Simley High School JV field or IGH middle school fields. They play on Saturdays but I dont have any times yet but will get those to you if you would like to know, just let me know. He will once again be going to the Canadian Hockey Enterprises camp in Peterborough, Ontario. That isnt until August 23-27. He is in his last year of the Tyke program!! He also wants me to sign him up for the youth Lacrosse camp. The deadline isnt until June 14 so I have a little bit to make sure he actually wants to do it.

Brycen is having a great time spending the day with mommy and Addie. We have been going to the park a lot and going to meet daddy for lunch! I couldnt find any sports activites to get him in this year that I liked. He really wanted to play t-ball but I couldnt find a 3 year old program that I liked. He will be going to watch all of Kodeys sports and hang out with mommy and Addie this summmer. Next year he will be able to do almost anything becuase most things start at 4, as I found out.

Adelyn is 1 months and 1 week old already! I cant believe it. At her 1 month doctor visit she was 9 pounds. She is still our little peanut. The boys just love her to peices. They help out with everything! She loves sitting in her bouncy or swing outside and enjoying the nice weather we have had latley. She is a wonderful sleeper!! She wakes up to eat and than goes right back to sleep! She loves to smile and laugh!

YES!!! Home Sweet Home for sure!! It is so nice to finally be home. Ive missed my house, my bed, knowing where everything is, being able to drive around without the GPS on to tell me where to go. And all of our family and friends!
Today I am taking Addie to my work for all of those girls to see her and for them to take a couple pictures of her if theyre not to busy.
We WILL be going to the Wild game tomarrow for all of you hockey family who is reading this. Dont worry we wont miss out on that. Our kids are born into hockey. The boys both went when they were a few days old so Addie gets to too.

We are in St. Louis right now eating some lunch!! It is nice to get up and move around a bit with being in the car for that long. We sitll have around 8 hours to go before we get home. I am so excited to get to sleep in my own bed tonight!
Adelyn has been great going home so far. She is enjoying sitting back there between her brothers(until we get a new vehical).
The boys are about done eating so then it is back on the road again. They are going to start watching a new moving when we get going to hopefully that will keep them content and maybe even fall asleep which would be great!!

Little miss Adelyn is 2 days old today! She and Malinda are going to be released from the hospital so Adelyn will get to go 'home'. She gets to go almost home but not home to her house we are still going to be at familys house.
We are going to sign papers tomarrow to make it all offical!! I am really excited about that but at the same time I am really nervous.
Today before they get released from the hospital we are going to find a cute frame and gets some pictures framed up for Malinda to give to her when we leave.

She entered the world this morning, March 14th, 2010 at 6:38 A.M.
Our sweet little baby girl weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 18 inches long.

Malinda's water broke about an hour ago!! She is at the hospital now. We havnt been over there yet to see her but have been getting updates. She is only about 3cm right now.
We are all about ready to head over to the hospital right now. All of our family is heading down there with us to hang out in the waiting area.

Last day in Florida

It is our last day here is Florida. I am going to miss this weather. Hopefully it wont be to big of a shocker when we get back to Minnesota. It has been pretty nice up there but has been rainy about all week I think. So I hope it got all of its rain out and will be done with that.
We are going to our last game of Twins spring training this afternoon(if we get to because of the rain here). Our last game until opening day 2010!! Cant wait for that staium to be in use!
We will be heading up to Atlanta tonight where we will stay the night then tomarrow morning we will be heading up to Tennessee to see Malinda(birthmother) and some of our family that we dont get to see much. It really has worked out great that Malinda is in Nashville right where some of our family lives!!
Hopefully in one of the next couple post I will be telling you we have a little girl!
